In order to alter settings, and some more occult car effects, you need to create an "ini" file.
In mk's programme, select the appropriate car, then select File, Export Car, then name the file and save it. Open the resultant
.ini file in Wordpad or Notepad (I prefer Wordpad, but there you go). You will see a long, long list of code lines, increasing
in steps of 4.
At the very top you will see "Region". This will be US or EU (I've never seen an ini file for Japanese region, so I don't know
what that would be) depending on your version of the game. If you wish to send your ini file to someone in another region, you
should manually edit that to the other option.
Most of the lines down to line 236 relate to the parts fitted to the car - these you can alter much more easily in mk's programme, so
ignore them. AFTER this line, the lines are all settings and much more interesting.
You should note that whatever the value entered in the ini file, the game value is +1 and inverted - so if the ini file value is -22, the in-game
value is +21.
To import a car BACK into mk's after playing with the ini, highlight the slot you want the car to go into (usually the car you exported in the first place), go to File, Import Car and pick the right file.
Go back to Colour Swapping.
Go on to New Cars.
