The Gran Turismo Apocalypse Zone

First things first - this is a site created by me out of my love for Gran Turismo. I do not claim to be the "ultimate", "excellent" or any other hyperbole. Although I am told it is pretty good...

Furthermore, for completeness and a rounded view, by the time this page is finished I will have tested every car - basic, tuned, racing, award and special models - round the High Speed Ring, and given it scores accordingly for its flying lap, Acceleration (not just the initial burst, but through to the top speed), Maximum Speed, Handling, Grip (yes, the two are separate - a car might handle like a pig round a corner, but not squeal a tyre once) and finally Fun (which takes into account the engine sound, its looks and whether you can throw it into a high speed corner and not cack your pants). These scores are averaged, and my list of top 25 cars, as well as the best in each category of FF, FR, MR, 4WD, Lightweight, Special, Racing, Tuned, Normal and Overall, and the worst car. Of course, although I've tested all of the cars, the list is by no means definitive. If you have any suggestions feel free to e-mail me, and if I consider it worthy enough, I'll give it another go. However, I will not consider the same car but with altered settings - this is a bit anal even for me.

Unless otherwise specified, a "Normal" car is one which has been bought and had nothing modified - not even the tyres, a "Tuned" car is one which has had everything put on it to top spec (except stabilisers, which I prefer as medium), except for the racing modification, and a "Racing" car is as a tuned car, except with racing modification. An "Award" car is one that is awarded to you when you win a championship (see "Award Cars"), and a "Special" car is the Special Model featured by 6 of the manufacturers (see "Special Cars"). No car tested had its settings altered, because otherwise I'd still be in front of the PlayStation, and not writing this

So, the game itself. To aid you, the reader, the page has been split up into ickle tiny subpages. Feel free to go where you please:

[Review].[The Cars].[The Circuits].[Racing].[Game Tactics].[Special Cars].[Award Cars].[The Car Awards]
[My Top 20].[Cheats].[GT2]

Try visiting the GT2 Apocalypse Zone. It's not bad, in an incomplete way.
Also try the GT3: A-spec Apocalypse Zone. It's better than a bagful of wombat wee.

Any views expressed on these pages are nuffin' to do with no-one, except me. As such, I have no affiliation to Sony Computer Entertainment, Aston Martin, Castrol, Chevrolet and General Motors, Chrysler/Dodge, Honda/Acura and Mugen, Mazda and Mazdaspeed, Mitsubishi and Ralliart, Nissan and Nismo, Subaru and Fuji Heavy Industries or STi, Toyota and TRD or TVR, much though I'd like to...

Furthermore, tactics and car descriptions are only accurate to the game. If someone offered me a DB7, I wouldn't say "No thanks, it's crap in GT"... And driving like a fool on public roads is never excusable, so no powersliding in your Capri now...

Visit our Fortunecity mirror site.... This contains the only working version (which is incomplete too) of the GT2 Apocalyse Zone. And is currently not allowing me anywhere near my files.
You are visitor to my lovely, lovely site.
